Another one I can still remember the first time I heard it.

Dunedin's Channel 9 used to play the same several hours of music each night for a week, which was great, because if you saw a video/heard a song you liked, you could plan to record it to VHS later in the week … And so, I discovered Skunk Anansie.

Five Finger Death Punch covering the song "Bad Company" originally by the band Bad Company, which was probably the only popular song played pretty much in its entirely in a The Young Riders episode (which is why that episode isn't available on the DVD release …)

And that song was called "When Worlds Collide" and now this song is off an album called "Worlds Collide" …

Well, now, see … I've put my desk at standing height now, so I have to go for another dance track.

Plus, It's Rob Zombie's brother.

I admit, as much as I love Heavy/Hard Rock, my catalogue is probably quite limited.

So, back to

Savatage "Edge of Thorns"

There is a music video to this, but much more important to have the good audio, methinks.

Back for some Queensrÿche.

Back in the days of MTV unplugged, Queensrÿche did one. And I thought I was so clever setting up our two VHS machines to record it, to be sure I didn't miss it (overnight). Except that the machine that invariably ate cassettes interfered with the TV signal to the back-up machine, so no dice for me.

But I managed to hear enough of this tune on the scrunched tape to know I'd like this one.

Some heavy, if soft metal …

And this one came out in the days of old cell phones.

I spent some time working out how to recreate this riff in midi so I could have it as my ring tone on my Sony Ericsson flip phone …

And waaaay back …

Kiwi songstress Jordan Reyne did a rock track about domestic violence …
