Last bike ride of 2025 was on Wednesday. I took a kid-free and dry-but-windy window to tool around the broader neighborhood and watch the sunset from the bluffs. Blasted down this alley on the way out and the way back. Good two-track. #SEAbikes #BikeTooter

I thought I was taking advantage of the (relatively) nice day until I realized it was pretty damn windy! I was exhausted by the end of the ride. 😅

@divestspd That is a greenway crossing, a new PBL and a heavily used bus stop. Brand new infrastructure damaged. #Seattle #Seabikes
New in the shop: Major Taylor's Autobiography

In August, two cop cars crashed in Beacon Hill.
We got the video. It's glorious.

Tomorrow after the school run, I plan to swap bikes and ride over to Roosevelt to take the train to Mt Baker and then ride the new singletrack loop in the Cheasty greenspace. Weather looks like it'll be great! and the train will cut out ~20 miles of round trip. \o/

Fun awaits. Hoot and holler with the Stellar jays.
I’m hoping that catching the Link around 10 or so will miss the morning commute and so boarding with a bike won’t be a hassle.

Can now confirm that slamming the brakes on mushy wet leaves in the bike lane can make you slip and crash, even on a plus-tire mountain bike
I was right across the street from the Allen Institute at the huge Mercer and 9th intersection, the light suddenly turned yellow and I didn't think I could make it across in time. Did normal 50-50 front and back braking, not super hard, and I think both tires slipped at the same time.
Probably should have just hit the back brake actually, because I've skid the back tire in mud before and it self-corrected when the front tire kept traction, but since both slid I ended up with my bike diagonal and my momentum going straight (then down thanks to good ol' gravity)

Came here to spend some of the store credit I have with them. Ended up buying just two pairs of cycling socks...

Full cycle rack at a play date. Left to right: my wife's Tern, my Roubaix, and a friend's Rad. Mine is probably the least likely to be stolen among those...
[Add] I took the Roubaix instead of my do-it-all bike because we were running late and I wasn't confident that I'd be able to ride as fast as my wife on the flat-bar gravel bike... 😅

Apparently two cop cars smashed into each other at high speed at Beacon and Hanford, thankfully no pedestrians or cyclists were waiting to cross at this time. #SEAbikes
