Problems accumulate silently for decades because their effects are masked by the inertia of the system. But eventually, you hit an inflection point where mounting pressure forces a rapid phase transition. The status quo collapses overnight. That’s what Lenin meant about there being decades where nothing happens, and weeks where decades happen.
Trump and his cult, including many Republican office-holders, have been egging on political violence -- aimed at the left -- for years. They are NOT opposed to political violence.
Our "mainstream" journalists seem mostly unwilling to provide that context in their coverage at the moment.

I suspect that the lessons were not missed by the #Project2025 authors and implementers in the #WH. Revolutions without terror do not last and give way to ‘re-normalisation’ of the regime (see post revolutionary French history for example).

The US is currently in the midst of an #OligarchicRevolution and the #Terror is just begining (because it has not ending in such regimes).
