👀 If you could see microplastics, you would see them EVERYWHERE.

Microplastics have been found in the 🌬️air we breathe, the 🍏food we eat, and even in 🫁organs and 🩸blood.

The only way to reduce microplastics is to cut plastic production.

THIS COVER IMAGE DEPICTS A HUMAN BRAIN WITH COLORFUL MICROPLASTIC PARTICLES SCATTERED ACROSS ITS SURFACE, JUXTAPOSED WITH A WHITE PLASTIC SPOON AS A VISUAL REPRESENTATION. RESEARCH
HAS REVEALED THAT THE HUMAN BRAIN CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY "A SPOON'S WORTH" OF MICROPLASTICS AND #NANOPLASTICS, WITH PARTICULARLY HIGH CONCENTRATIONS (3-5 TIMES GREATER) IN INDIVIDUALS WITH DEMENTIA.

Guess what % of plastics have been #recycled? No prizes :(

A Sankey diagram shows how a total of the 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic ever produced by humanity has ended up either being totally discarded, incinerated or still in use. 31% are still in use. The remainder have been dumped or burnt.
