Holocaust education remains urgent and timely. We are grateful to the educators who include Holocaust Education in your classrooms: to honor those whose lives were lost in the Holocaust, to honor survivors and their families, and to foster remembrance and prevention. Thank you for teaching your students about the past to help them create an inclusive present and a better future. 4/4

As Holocaust survivor numbers dwindle, educators are turning to local connections to keep the history alive.

One example: South Carolina students are studying letters between a Polish Jewish family and their immigrant relatives to show how the genocide touched American communities.

"Pawel argued that we cannot comprehend the fears and conditions of the time—that we should not judge.

We can only ask ourselves, what are we doing now? How do we respond to today’s atrocities?"

Marking a solemn moment in Rothau, where we remember the genocide of six million Jews and 500 000 Roma and Sinti, and all victims of Nazi persecution. Memory is alive here – upheld by children & young people through the Memory & Human Rights Garden they created.
