I’m back from Amiga40. I’ll post about the event soon, but first I have a lot of photos to go through and thoughts to sort out. Spoiler: the event was fantastic!



In the meantime, here’s a great photo of The Machine, taken by Rudolf Stember. Seeing all the photos and hearing the overwhelmingly positive feedback has been really rewarding. This cosplay took me 980 hours to make, but it was worth it.

Amiga 40 has been really cool until now but there's just one thing that bugged me, and it's not something specific, but something I saw in other retro scenes too.

The (fortunately not frequent) use of AI-generated images.

Please, please, please don't do that. Finding one in this context feels like having the time of your life, and then suddenly stepping on some dog shit.

I managed to finish The Machine as well as 2 other new Amiga related costumes on time. However, there wasn’t enough time to try on all the finished pieces of The Machine and take pictures of the cosplay. The final look will therefore be a surprise to everyone, including myself.
