Well that was an incredible run from Germany. Given all their injuries, and two players out for red cards/accumulation, it was impressive to come this close to knocking Spain out. The team should be very proud.
And at least they went out on a class goal by a world class player, rather than an extremely soft PK call.
(Also, loved the shot we got of Esther and AKB hugging as they exchanged jerseys. <3)

Germany defender passing to Esther in the box, terrible idea (unless you're Spain) luckily AKB with a fantastic save. Also enjoyed AKB positioning a Germany player in front of Esther on the corner. Berger trains with Esther every day, she knows what a menace she is on corners.
Spain is also testing Germany's defense but that's just a given

I came into the #ENGITA game pretty neutral, and came out disappointed in the result. Italy played with so much heart and England...didn't. England might also just be tired because Sarina Weigman refuses to rotate even though some of her best players are on the bench.
Still, bummer of an ending with the ref, who swallowed her whistle all game, handing England the game via a very soft penalty call.
I'm happy for Esme Morgan and Esme Morgan only. (Okay and Michelle Agyemang.)
