Dear fediverse,

I just had a video call over Signal with @joynewacc from Gaza.

Farah, or Joy, as she prefers to be called, is a 22-year-old Palestinian author and poet studying English Literature at the Islamic University of Gaza, which has been bombed by Israel.

She lives with her mother and four siblings in a shelter, trying to survive the genocide being committed by Israel.

Please help her and her family afford food during the famine that Gaza is experiencing. Please donate if you can and/or share this so that it might reach others who might be able to:

Middle East Eye: *Greta Thunberg, preparing to set sail for Gaza to break Israeli siege, says they have ‘no choice’*

"Activist and Global Sumud Flotilla steering committee member Greta Thunberg told Middle East Eye the inaction of governments worldwide over Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza has forced civilians to take action, as they “simply have no choice.”

“When our governments and those in power fail to step up, it falls on us as human beings to step up and take that responsibility,” Thunberg emphasised.

Thunberg is set to sail to Gaza on 31 August, along with dozens of other activists from more than 40 countries, to break Israel’s illegal siege of the strip and open a humanitarian corridor."

🇵🇸 Je pars le 4 septembre pour Gaza sur la @GlobalSumudF avec mes collègues @emma_frr et @MarieMesmeur , au sein d’une flottille internationale pour briser le blocus humanitaire et dénoncer le génocide du peuple palestinien. Nous ne lâcherons rien jusqu’à ce que la Palestine soit libre ✊
