no mention of e/OS/ ? is it because its based on AOSP?
@neil
What other apps than OpenSource would there be available?
Whould you get a Signal-App, or Authentication Apps from banks?
"official" wallets?
@neil I'd love to see it become user-friendly to non-technical people. I keep my 🤞🤞🤞
@neil will you use postmarketOS with Phosh? #phosh @phosh #postmarketos (or Plasma or other UI?)
@neil I've recently been considering switching to GrapheneOS. At the moment I'm trying to degoogle as much as possible first, as it doesn't seem worth switching if I'm still dependent on Google services for everything!
@neil I am curious about your Sailfish experience.
@neil I'm also looking elsewhere. I have postmarketOS running on a OnePlus 6T, and have just taken delivery of an Ebay Nord N100 to try Ubuntu Touch on. Daily driver is a Pixel 8 with GrapheneOS already 🫣
@neil As someone that spent too many years of my life as an Android app developer I would say "Fuck Google!" The sooner there is an alternative to Android/iOS spyware the better.
@neil my current phone is supported by neither graphene nor postmarket, so i hope to get a phone that supports either soon
@neil Thanks for mentioning postmarketOS. I will go search for it today, and see if it seems promising for me.
@neil This has also been on my mind, but hadn't yet found something compatible with my Pixel 6a. until now! GrapheneOS has a build. looking forward to messing around with that.
@neil good luck and don't forget to give us your feedback on that option. I wish I could just buy a Linux Phone with a good OOBE as my next phone.
@neil does it matter which hardware you use? Can you develop software for any smart phone?
Yes I'm looking to do the same hopefully with a Fairphone 5. 🤞
