This feels super awkward to ask, but I'm trying to crowdfund a used M2 MacBook for #postmarketOS development. My current ARM laptop can't safely run VMs (have to choose between virtualization or battery monitoring 😅). Daily-driving new hardware has helped me improve other ports (e.g. ThinkPad X13s), so this would help me work more efficiently and advance the M-series port in pmOS!

I only took one more picture today as my little vacation with my friends is coming to an end. We had a great time.

Using a Linux phone was surprisingly boring. I mean that in the most positive way. Using a phone should be boring, because it should just work.

It wasn't perfect. All images look vintage, I had to rotate them all manually, and there was no way to select multiple files for sending. It crashed a few times, too.

I'm happy overall.

Does anyone in the US want to donate (or sell to me for cheap) an Apple M1 or M2 macbook so I can:

- Improve the #postmarketOS port for this device

- Use it to speed up my pmOS development[1] because using qemu/kvm to test is soooo helpful for the work I do

😁

1) IIUC kvm works under linux on this, unlike on my existing qcom laptop that can't reach el2 without losing remoteprocs 🫠

I'm super happy to share, that the #Fairphone (Gen. 6) was just announced, and we've been able to already publish a lot of code for it!

* #postmarketOS support is submitted
* 59(!) patches were sent to bring up upstream #Linux on the SM7635 SoC and enable the device.
* The stock Android source code is public on code.fairphone.com

This has been a lot of work over the last couple of months so it's awesome to finally be able to share it!
