Great news: DeltaTouch ( @deltatouch), a #DeltaChat client created for #UbuntuTouch, is now available on #Flathub!
https://flathub.org/en/apps/page.codeberg.lk108.deltatouch
We've updated our listing https://linuxphoneapps.org/apps/page.codeberg.lk108.deltatouch/ accordingly, and would love to see more apps for Ubuntu Touch land on Flathub (and thus be available for #postmarketOS, #Mobian, #Droidian) - the flatpak manifest may help https://github.com/flathub/page.codeberg.lk108.deltatouch/blob/master/page.codeberg.lk108.deltatouch.yml .
Any #PostmarketOS users got TTS working? I had it working fine for four months, then I had to reinstall the OS and now I can't get it right 😢 And of course I didn't make a note of what I did to get it working 😆
I have tried py3-piper-tts, piper-tts, speech-dispatcher and Pied from flatpak.
What have I missed...? 🙏 thanks in advance!
Since we're on the topic of Cellebrite: #postmarketOS is NOT vulnerable to UFED.
Among devices that police seized from my friend was Xiaomi Poco F1 (xiaomi-beryllium) running postmarketOS build I pmbootstraped in late January 2024 (without LUKS2). Police seized the device 2 weeks after I gave it to said friend.
They tried to exploit it, but gave up. Mainline Linux kernel (6.6 at the time) did not have vulnerabilities in USB HID drivers (at least none in UFED's database).
To mitigate further against tools such as Cellebrite, we could enable USB authentication which prevents kernel modules from loading prior to user's consent.
Problem with that approach is that Desktop Environments have authentication implemented for Thunderbolt, but not for USB.

I really would like to see SELinux implemented as well, but it would be a Herculean effort because rules would need to be hand-written for Alpine.
The EU (that includes France) should embrace and support projects like #GrapheneOS rather than criminalize them. If we want to achieve digital sovereignty, we need to make sure that alternatives to Google and Apple can flourish.
Also, Linux on Mobile is becoming increasingly viable ( #ubuntutouch , #postmarketos, #mobian, etc.). These alternatives are not quite as mature (or secure, for that matter) as GrapheneOS, but they definitely deserve attention and funding.

Someone on the Steam subreddit was asking for Valve to make a #SteamOS phone (seeing how the new VR headset is Arm but also playes x86 steam games). And I thought "Hey, I've already got #PostmarketOS on a phone. We know Valve is using some 'FEX' library. How hard could it be?"
As it turned out, remarkably easy. (Though, it helps that someone already wrote a guide for it: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Steam )
Pretty sure it's a YMMV situation, but my milage was pretty good.

It's official. I am now a proud owner of a Fairphone 6. Let's see how long can I keep it running. My previous phone was #OnePlus5T, it lasted about 8~9 years and still works, but got really slow and memory-restricted (64 GB storage, no sdcard). I am looking into repurposing the old OnePlus as a small server using #PostmarketOS. We'll see. So far the FairPhone 6 works fantastic. I am very fond of the 120 Hz OLED display on it.

Introducing the Re-Cyber-Lab (https://blog.solarcene.community/posts/2025-11-20-introducing-re-cyber-lab/) which is a small rack of 3x Samsung A5 (a5y17lte) running #postmarketos built into a #pelican case recycled #cyberdeck. It's a combination of lots of current trends including #miniracks and #homelab. I'm currently using it to work on #postmarketos projects.
It certainly ain't perfect and the a5y17lte while chosen as its cheap and not terribly spec'd only has a very old 'downstream' kernel (3.8.140) which has made things a lot harder - so my next job is to 'mainline' it or at least try to.
