Avoid using DeltaChat if you do not wish to voluntarily participate in a surveillance programme operated by the Five Eyes (Plus). 😉

DeltaChat discloses a lot of metadata and is, of course, not quantum cryptography-secure. 🫣

When you have an issue with Signal's centralised approach, you would be better off checking out SimpleX:

@jack @leanderlindahl @delta Forward secrecy und post-quatum resistente Verschlüsselung sind für 2026 angekündigt. Und "viele Metadaten" ist auch nicht ganz richtig...
Aktuell sind es Sender und Empfänger und Größe der Nachricht (Sealed sender ist soweit ich weiß auch angekündigt) ... ansonsten verschwindet alles an auswertbaren Metadaten aus den Headern.

In der Grundeinstellung werden Nachrichten direkt bei Zustellung vom Server gelöscht.

I would be very grateful if you could advocate for the email standards to be changed to include support for sealed (encrypted) senders.
Without this limitation, too much metadata is shared, and we should avoid referring to this service as a privacy-protecting messenger.

You omitted the timing of messages from your list of metadata: this can indicate the type of relationship, right?
