There are IM apps mostly pushed by a few loud enthusiasts on Mastodon, and then there is #XMPP, which is used in the real world.
For example:
• Evacuating people from battlefields in Afghanistan: That’s XMPP.
• Shipping metric fuck tons of cocaine across the globe: That’s XMPP.
@daniel Daniel, as a huge fan of XMPP, I would rather use the less "eyewateringly informed by redditorism and CIA worship" example of the protocol being attacked by German security services and patching out that exploit, going on to have no further issues. No need to snidely attack Delta.
