If you thought these, what shall we call them, spears?
were older than my kids you'd be right. Older than me?? Well I'm reasonably sure you'd be right there too.
I don't remember ever using them as a kid - but took them off my mom years ago when she was around, on a trip to Kolkata. Likely my parents got them early 70s - probably in Dar es Salaam

What are they for? Ahh take a guess...
(If not obvious to you, answer below shortly)

4 long metal skewer like things with a two pointed barbed flat fork at end with wooden handles and (different ) colored beads at the end of the handle

...and yes, they 👆🏽be fondue forks. Idk if they ever had a pot to go with them.
Anyways had a lovely afternoon family #lunch of fondue!
Mmmm melty cheese... (Gruyere & Swiss)
Must say pleasantly surprised by these not too salty and no gross fake smoke in these Aldi cocktail sausages. Also cornichons were terrific here!

And whaddya know - went down to basement to find some wine and I had the most excellent fondue wine -
Grünet Veltliner.
Cooked with some and drank the rest. Touch on the sour side (high acid I guess) but went most well with fondue... no idea what prompted me to pick up the bottle (I don't keep too many whites around) but sure glad it was there today!

@SRDas Y’all do good food! My guy is not much of a cheese fan, which is very sad.

Btw are those Japanese placemats?

@farah we love all sorts of cheese here - it might take some tries and different types...

Japanese-esque placemats - fabric picked up at JoAnns some years ago, cut and edges hemmed.
