It's #Hackster round-up time, and here's my four for today - starting with a fantastic adaptive gamepad which borrows the flip-it-over lefty-righty switch of the Atari Lynx (remember that?) while also making it so you can move the joysticks and buttons around... without taking it apart, or even stopping your game.

This Adaptive Gamepad Uses a Clever "Rail" System to Stave Off Repetitive Strain Injuries

Sliding buttons and a joystick mean that this gamepad can be adjusted for comfort on the fly — you don't even have to stop gaming.

A work-in-progress project next: an effort to recreate the Intel 4004 (first commercially-successful VLSI chip, and the ancestor of the x86 architecture) as an open-source Verilog project... then actually have it manufactured in silicon.

The twist: two more cores, one of which is a what-if pipelined 4004 with binary compatibility but a big performance boost(!)

Jeremy King Sets His Sights on Recreating Intel's Venerable 4004 CPU — And a New Pipelined Version

King's project seeks to deliver an open source 4004, implementable on FPGA or in-silicon, along with a high-performance pipelined version.
