I want a device that works to help me in my daily tasks, not a glorified megaphone for my data

@Tutanota @volla a good camera 😭 actually for a perfect phone I wish to have great hardware integrated f.e. a GPS (Pixel phones don't have this).

For current phones I wish to have good onboarding when you use the device for the first time.

@Tutanota @volla The most important element of a #deGoogled phone is being secure and easy to use, to the point that I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone

@Tutanota @volla I want it to be able to support Signal and similar common apps - it would be less useful if I am isolated from people I contact a lot.

@Tutanota @volla Most important is peace of mind with a clutter free phone. Only functions that I want are there, all else does not occupy mental space.

@Tutanota #deGoogle

- independence from political and corporate arbitrary
- calmness of me using a tool... not a tool using me for ad profits
- privacy as an active decision of me when to share what data and not opt in by default

Cliché but freedom. Freedom to choose what I want to do with MY device. Freedom to trust in MY computer. Freedom from bloat.

@Tutanota @volla Most important: privacy / security / safety.

Bonus round: Ability to run the app for my bank so I can deposit checks via my phone while living in pandemic isolation. (I realize this is a somewhat niche concern.)

For me the most important thing is that I am the real owner of my phone. No service should monitor my installed apps and check if they are safe. I want to take the risks but also the possibilities.

Most important reasons for a de-googled Phone:

- No Google (Obviously)
- More Privacy
- Sustainability
- #unplugtrump
- Removed bloattware and
- getting full control over installed software

In no particular order.

@volla
