We unequivocally condemn Donald Trump's disgusting & dangerous #DeathThreats against Members of #Congress & call on #House #Republicans to forcefully do the same.
Donald #Trump incited a violent attack on the Capitol on #Jan6 as part of a treacherous attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. The President's violent & unhinged rhetoric against American patriots is consistent with his well-documented history of attacking #POWs, #GoldStarFamilies & #WarHeroes.

We have been in contact with the House Sergeant at Arms & the United States Capitol Police to ensure the safety of these Members & their families. Donald Trump must immediately delete these unhinged social media posts & recant his violent rhetoric before he gets someone killed.
#Trump calls Dems’ video to service members “seditious behavior, punishable by death”. Trump called several Democratic #military #veterans & #NationalSecurity specialists "traitors" for releasing a video where they said that US service members could refuse illegal orders.
Here’s the video Trump thinks should get these veterans & elected government officials executed.
The video language is similar to the Uniform Code of Military Justice [ #UCMJ], which states that service members are required to follow lawful orders, but can be prosecuted for following unlawful orders.
The #Democrats who appeared in the video released a joint statement following #Trump's comments.
"What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the #law.

“Our #servicemembers should know that we have their backs as they fulfill their oath to the #Constitution & obligation to follow only lawful orders. It is not only the right thing to do, but also our duty,”the #Democrats said in the stmnt.
"But this isn’t about any one of us. This isn’t about politics. This is about who we are as Americans. Every American must unite & condemn the President’s calls for our #murder & #PoliticalViolence. This is a time for moral clarity."
Democratic Sen Ruben Gallego, a #Marine #combat #veteran, slammed #Trump's comments, telling ABC News that the president "doesn't understand the military."
"He thinks the #military is one of his personal little play toys," said Gallego, who was not in the #Democrats' video. "He, for some reason, thinks that men & women upholding their oath is a contradiction to him as commander in chief — which, again, tells you he doesn't really understand his role."
