There was a 'womp' sound from the yard. I looked out the window.
Where the large pile of leaves had been, a dragon sat.
"Oi!" I called.
"The hoard was unguarded," the dragon said. "I claim it."
Every damn year. It'll leave once the leaves lose their golden hue. Meanwhile, I can't order takeaway.

@MicroSFF You really think I'd learn by now. Every year, I tell myself I ought to bag up the leaves right away after raking them into a pile. But then I tell myself it's not like anything is gonna go wrong in mere minutes, so it'll be ok if I put it off until a little later, right? "A little later" turns into a day or two, and then I've got a big ol' dragon in the front yard. Again. <sigh>

How does the dragon makes it impossible to order food to go ?
@Vive_Levant @MicroSFF In the UK, takeaway is what people in the US refer to as delivery.
To clarify: it is a multipurpose word in the UK, when used in ordering in the restaurant it is the U.S. equivalent of “to go” and when used when ordering elsewhere it means “arrange a delivery to my home” aka the U.S. equivalent of “delivery”.
