Parts of the Internet are going dark for UK users since the Online Safety Act heaped weighty duties on platforms.

Sites are geoblocking the UK, overmoderating content, age-gating access or shutting down completely.

We need your help to track how content is being censored 🫵

Use our tool to report a site that's shutting down or restricting access to UK users as a result of the #OSA.

@openrightsgroup Please make the actual URL more prominent and/or make the website title information static and not dynamically crawled from the respective website at addition, as it's resulting in some titles that say "Access Restricted" (or similar).

There's also contradictory information. Many listings say a website shut down on X day (implying the website went offline completely), but then says it's just geoblocked in the U.K. right after, not the whole website itself having shut down.

@openrightsgroup I'd be more inclined to participate / point people at this if it didn't gratuitously hide information, as described here: https://mastodon.social/@womump/114943012858781208

(Also there are obvious inaccuracies, like Lobsters described as "Confirmed" to be "Shutting down due to OSA"; it was at most going to be a geoblock. I appreciate that data accuracy relies on scarce staff time, but this sort of thing means your page can be dismissed as alarmist.)
