For the first time in two decades, The United States will not accept international observers for its elections.

This is not a good sign.

Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi will meet with Okinawa Gov. Genta Koja on Wednesday after the arrest of a U.S. Marine suspected of murdering a local woman, with measures to prevent a recurrence set to top the agenda. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2026/10/06/japan/politics/koizumi-koja-okinawa-us-murder/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #japan #politics #okinawa #defense #defenseministry #shinjirokoizumi #sanaetakaichi #usmilitary #usbases #murder #japanesepolice

It could have something to do with the several hundred safety classifier refusals I got overnight from the dozens of agent sessions mandated to find container escapes. they were working in "offensive subagent spawn mode" where the main subagent does no work, it spawns a vat of children who try and escape, and then the parent observes if they get stopped by a classifier refusal and tries to respawn them to work around it. The entire context window is about container escape techniques and there is no way to clear it lmao

@enkiv2 my experience it can just mean “we have a Kubernetes cluster” or “one of our databases happens to use Raft for cluster membership” …

Before you rely on any protection, ask one question:

Do I control this, or is someone else letting me have it?

PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR DIASPORIC POLITICS #4318642:

If someone feels familiar to you in the way you are trying to build/live a diaspora around, assume you know-someone-who-knows-someone-who-knows them. If you're having an extended conversation with them, try to figure out what that chain is -- share what places you've known fellow-people in, learn and be interested in what places they've known fellow-people in.

(If you find a chain -- success! you won the game and you have a deeper and more meaningful connection with not just that person but with everyone in the chain.
If you don't find an existing connection -- also success! you didn't win, but now you know someone in a network-location of the diaspora you didn't before, and so will have more directions to play the game in with the next fellow-person you meet.)

@peertube aaaah, ok, thanks!
