Geneticist Liane Russell was born #OTD in 1923.
She pioneered the study of mutagenesis and teratogenesis due to radiation, and identified the role of the Y chromosome in sex determination. Her work led to diagnostic x-ray safety standards for women of childbearing age.

I have known Minsky for more than thirty years. When I first met him, in the late nineteen-forties, at Harvard, it was not entirely clear what his major academic field was—or, perhaps, what it wasn’t. He was taking courses in musical composition with the composer Irving Fine. Although he was an undergraduate, he had his own laboratories—one in the psychology department and one in the biology department—and he was writing what turned out to be a brilliant and original senior mathematics thesis on a problem in topology.

Yep. I saved hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month just from switching from Substack to self-hosted Ghost.
I pay a roughly flat $85/month now (~$75 for mailsending, $10 for hosting), vs. 10% of all my subscription income.
Here’s some napkin math for how expensive Substack is compared to its competitors, assuming that roughly 7% of all subscribers will pay for their subscriptions, and that subscriptions cost $5/month.
Does he realize that we’re all gonna go back to calling them Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario after he’s out of office, right??

If you use the resistor on CF1, just the fixed voltage. If you use logic levels on CF[1:3], or I2C, you can change it dynamically, but at any given time it only negotiates for what those config pins tell it.
There's no way to tell it, "negotiate the highest voltage you can."
You could program e.g. a CH32X035 to do what you want, but I don't know how much you'd have to hack, starting from an SDK example
