Ursula K. LeGuin's "Earthsea" cycle is an excellent thing to re-read in your early 40ies, to see how different and still the same it feels in the middle of your life instead of the first quarter.

And this particular edition - hard to hold in your hands, impossible to carry with you, but containing quiet a few extra texts - is something I definitely recommend, too.

Quakers are great. My favourite teacher in secondary school was a Quaker (we later found out). He earned a full blackboard of good luck messages from our class when we found out he was retiring, and he was almost crying because of how much we were all saying we'd miss him and so on. Like, the nerds and the cool kids alike.
Mutual respect, a caring and compassionate guy basically.
We were teenagers, some in the class really pissed about in other lessons but not his.
