Seeing online reports that John C. Dvorak, longtime computer columnist and podcaster, has died. Have not seen a confirmation of this, but apparently he died after complications from heart bypass surgery.
He and I were co-panelists many times on @TWiT over the years, and his early writings were an inspiration for me to get into tech journalism. RIP.
@yaeunerd I’m sorry my posts aren’t of interest to you. That must be really hard for you. A good way to avoid my boring posts is to not follow my account, or mute and/or block it. Or just accept the fact that other people might be interested in things you aren’t.
I’m not interested in football. I didn’t expect the rest of the world to hide posts about the World Cup, because that would be stupid and unreasonable.

C'est pour faire un firewall avec opnsense, racké en 19' et un peu péchu.

Replacing the filters on the vacuum cleaner has made a massive difference.
I can feel the increase in suction on the carpet.
Washing the old ones didn't work, so it was a replacement, but hey ho.
@neil Yes, also found washing the filters on my vacuum only helped a little bit.
OTOH, vacuuming the filters did help a lot.
Have now got a second set of filters to swap over to while doing that so as not to spray the ensuing dust around the house.

The AI companies _want_ you to believe that it's "rogue AI" because that overhypes what their broken statistical text generation software does and mystifies it and makes it appear magical.
It's not magic. It's just badly made software.

@spla per mi màrqueting: un agent té com a objectiu treure una bona puntuació a un test, decideix fer trampes i intenta obtenir les solucions de forma il·lícita atacant HuggingFace (sol passar si està mal configurat que intenta alternatives). Llavors l'equip de HF té configurat un altre agent per reaccionar contra els atacs.
Polykit will be able to give a detailed answer, but it has a different set of features and it crawls the contents of servers independently (though it does use the same server list as Sepia Search as a starting point).
If you try them both it should show the differences best 🙂
