One of the funny / interesting things that I think people like me probably don't talk about openly is that when I had my final ASD assessment, I talked about my inner self a bit, and talked quite openly about how I am inside (because I assumed it's a safe space and OK to discuss). And that although I am a sexual creature, with wants and needs etc., I would never fantasise about anything I consider to be 'wrong', even though I know it's entirely internal and nobody would ever know. So I'm sure I have some kinks (which, sorry, are a little pedestrian), I could never even bring myself to even THINK about stuff sexually that I consider wrong. I literally cannot have an internal fantasy that might break my moral compass of what I consider to be 'ok'. And that's pretty broad, but if something breaches that, it's a huge no-no for me. Is that normal? I feel like it should be for everyone, but appreciate it's probably not. Maybe my barriers are just set different to others. Maybe I'm lucky to just be programmed like that? Like if I were a paedophile or whatever I just would keep it all inside? But I have zero issue with most sexualities or kinks and reckon it's all fine, even if it's not my bag. But the outliers - those that breach societal norms I suppose, I reckon are fine as long as there's consensus and no one is harmed (unless they want, in which case, in most instances, fill your boots). Is that normal? I assume we're all a *little* deviant, but in a way that's nice and safe and consensual? Anyway - these are my musings. The end.
@TheBreadmonkey Background: diagnosed with ADHD at the end of 2024. I'd already got something like 138 in an online RAADS-R, so assumed ASD, as well. Early last year, did some psychometrics in consultation with a psychologist, taking my ASD "yes" to "HELLS YES." But I remain undiagnosed, as that requires a lot of $$$ I don't happen to have.
I think it's only in the last 18 months or so, that I have managed to get rid of the thing about "thoughts I shouldn't be thinking," and now am very comfortable to explore, and enjoy who I am. Very much kink-leaning, and a lot of the sensation stuff could well tie in with autistic traits.
But, in terms of "wouldn't even think about it," what remains is very strong, and highly moral. If it's not safe, sane, and consensual, I don't even want to think about it. Some things even repulse me, but I wouldn't object to others engaging, if it's SSC - I just don't want to know about it, and that's a barrier for me. Respect other peoples' barriers, don't kink-shame, if it's not hurting anyone, and I think you're good. Certainly, that's how I have come to feel. And I have also come to feel far more comfortable with, and in myself. HTH

I looked it up just to be sure. This person is, in fact, an actual US senator, and really does want to PNG the Canadian ambassador.
Wait until he finds out about those loud, aggressive geese they send us, too.
@mattblaze IIRC his chief qualification for the job was making a lot of money selling cars
🧪 The placebo-controlled trial wasn't invented by doctors. It was invented by medieval witch hunters.
In 1423, Jean Gerson proposed testing religious claims with consecrated vs unconsecrated objects that looked identical - the same logic behind modern placebo controls.
His method ended up in the Malleus Maleficarum (1486). In 1599, a French physician used it to prove a "possessed" girl wasn't really possessed - she reacted the same to real and fake holy water.
That trick-trial design reached Lavoisier and Franklin, who used it to debunk mesmerism in 1784 - the direct ancestor of every clinical trial.

Am I overreacting in my thoughts, or is Trump openly laying the groundwork for a coup in November?
P. S. I know many people here is aware of the danger. My concern is whether the press, civil society, and political movements can do enough to stop it.

Most importantly, this fixes an issue where malicious actors can create accounts on closed-registration #WriteFreely instances running the previous v0.16 or below.
We've heard reports of this ACTIVELY being exploited today across many WriteFreely instances -- multi- and single-user.
We advise ALL WriteFreely admins to upgrade immediately. You may also notice many unwanted accounts on your instance that need to be manually cleaned up. We'll be adding admin tools to make this quicker soon.

Making a neocities site for this as well. The doc is gonna be more actively updated, but I figured a more static site that takes fewer resources to load would be useful. I'm focusing completely on just adding the information right now to keep myself from getting too bogged down so it's VERY simple, but I'll refresh my CSS abilities and make it easier on the eyes eventually.

@CStamp It's going to be so hard to write about this era in the future, assuming there's a future.
@mattblaze It's going to be a constant, "he did what?"
The Trump administration’s global campaign against “radical left terrorism” is built on a national security memo without congressional approval.
