NS recently cancelled a lot of services stopping at Leiden centraal because they needed to paint the platform canopy along platform 4/5. They had to take possession, they had to turn off the power, and they needed some specialist kit (rail mounted scaffolding). But if they are doing to be doing that anyway, it's a perfect time to go up and put some panels... but the bike shed is probably an easier place to put the panels...

Hopefully this litte thread answers some of the questions from my original thread about the solar railway VC scam projects.
Solar is great, we need more of it, and there's a lot of great locations to put panels, but with few exceptions, the railways are not a place to put them.

And #Apple is fast with app reviews for #macOS these days… so v2.1.0 of the #ManfredApp was accepted and is rolling out to the AppStore.

Counterexample: Mamdani. He didn't fix everything on day one, but he focused on making sure that the highest short-term returns were there at the start. You can set the groundwork for long-term wins while you're doing this, but there's a lot that can be fixed quite easily by just stopping doing the actively stupid thing.
And you can also start communicating about the big things early. It took Blair's government almost a year to implement a minimum wage, but they were talking about it even before they were elected and didn't stop talking about it as part of their agenda.
So what is? As I said in the original thread, the station roof is the ideal location. It already exists, access isn't too difficult, there's nearby users for the power generated, and it's not a safety critical location. The next best location is to build platform shelters from the panels. I've ranted at great length about the importance of shade as part of public transport, this is a great way to provide shade and generate electricity. It's a win win. It's not perfect tho.
