Some more great news: I’m pleased to announce that #HP has also agreed to be a premier sponsor for the Linux Vendor Firmware Service (#LVFS) as part of our new sustainability effort.
With the industry support from HP (and our existing sponsors of Lenovo, Dell, Framework, OSFF and of course Linux Foundation and Red Hat) we can turbo-charge the growth of the LVFS even more than I'd imagined. Thanks!
@hughsie Congrats! I have been away from the operations of the Linux operating system that I had no idea about LVFS… just catching up now… WOW! All that you have built is amazing! So glad you are getting support to make it more sustainable in the long term. Congrats, again!

@ausm fuck off matthias!
Is it just me or is Claude starting to ignore instructions and guess more often?
@smach I don't use it, but find this very interesting. Could you please give some examples? Thank you!

Here is what he said.
I'm not saying it's egregious. I'm saying that it's enough for me to believe him at his words, and for me to decide to read other authors. There are a lot of good sci-fi books out there, and I only have so much time to put my energy into reading them and supporting the authors. He'll make a lot of money and do fine without my one little book purchase.
@mekkaokereke ta!

I guess you are already aware of the "CEO said a thing" concept.
Wow some terrible reporting about Google's latest horrible ideas about how to distort information access in the name of "convenience" (or something):

@jonny I think you have very valid points there, but I got very distracted from them by the pictures in my mind of someone trying to snatch a piece of cheese with their ass. And then getting it clamped.
@hllizi
That is just me clamping your ass with the cheese of a visceral metaphor to get you to read my points, now just picture a wretchedly creaky door flavored evil cackle and the spell is complete

20th May 2026. If not your current genre, what genre would you write?
This is your daily scheduled reminder that genres are just marketing labels.
I write SF/F, and I had a breakout success in 2007 with a novel about crime inside MMOs. In the UK, it hit its fourth hardcover reprint within 2 weeks of publication and my subsequent book advances quadrupled!
Turns out it went gold because Waterstones systematically misfiled it under "crime", not SF/F …

@cdonat are you using a classic email address or a chatmail relay? Chatmail relays don't allow unencrypted messages, which filters out spam completely. But a chatmail relay address will only be able to talk to Delta Chat users, not classic email users. Here you can pick one: https://chatmail.at/relays
I'm using as normal email address. And for the time being it'll stay that way - for different reasons. Though it is a mail address, I exclusively use for Delta Chat.
If you are aware, what I could add to my procmail file, to also filter out non-encrypted messages, that would be a huge help.
