Boost ok, merci d'avance !

The rose-breasted grosbeaks have arrived, and the males are taking turns belting their rippling territorial whistles on the deck. #BirdCallOut #NotSilentSunday
why did they call them "ai datacenters" when they could have called them "slopping malls"
This is true. And I definitely don't want to shit on that. The problem of course is that the switching costs are...exhausting.
@Daojoan Yeah, absolutely. I think what worked for me was more or less going with one dirt simple system, and going back to it after stopping for whatever reason.
Of course that doesn't sell books, which is a big part of why this is an issue.

Seen near Holborn Station, on the route of the Unite the Kingdom rally.
The poster says it better than most speeches:
When the scapegoats are gone, the borders are fortified, and the hatred has done its damage, the cost of living will still rise, the NHS will still be dying, and corporate vultures will still be picking our lives apart.
Who will they blame then?
What will they have gained?
A badge for barbarism against a backdrop of decay.

A new fundraising campaign is open to help me keep building Holos and my other projects across every platform. The full story, including what changed since my last attempt, is in the linked post. Thanks for reading, and for sharing.

The net effect of slower population growth and lower labor-force participation may be roughly zero growth in the potential labor force, which could have significant implications for the U.S. economy. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/commentary/2026/05/17/world/americas-demographic-stagnation/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #commentary #worldnews #useconomy #immigration #jobs #demographics
I really hate being sick. I especially hate starting the day thinking that I'm past the worst of it, doing stuff, and then going downhill towards the evening.
I would ditch my meds for a couple of days to improve my chances of actually resting, but then I definitely won't be able to cope with all the sensory yucks of sore throat, coughing and sinus congestion (on top of the sore tooth as well).
And it's hard to focus on reading or movies, so I'd just be bored af, which leads to thing doing.
I'm especially annoyed because I had a pretty good streak of not getting sick going. Apparently, all it takes to fuck my immune system up to that level is a week and a half of not being able to eat properly.
I would make chicken soup, but a) that would take energy I don't think I currently have, b) I pretty much have to buy the ingredients myself because I can't trust anyone else here to actually follow my shopping list, and c) chewing is still somewhat uncomfortable which would make my usual version of chicken soup a problem to eat.

Alex’s books are EXCELLENT and well worth buying if you do any kind of work with JS/TS.
And his experience matches what I’ve been seeing elsewhere. The web dev education and training sector has basically been wiped out
its double edged sword, for instance I see a lot of interesting smaller electric cars and e-bikes but even those often have the surveillance apps built in (often with a deal from some adtech companies for selling the data of users, or at very least they are capturing the telemetry as a way of using the early adopters as unpaid beta testers rather than making things work "right first time" as much as possible.
No one seems to want to sell a car/bike which is just a vehicle (or if they did it would be at premium price), its same flawed model as "smart" TV-sets being sold at a loss in return for the users coughing up their data when they connect the set to the Internet (so its made to not work properly without a net connection)
Which is closest to your view?
@ZachWeinersmith A2 and A3
@irick i have two of those things. don't ever sell music equipment, you will always regret it.
@arrrg heh no worries on that point. I'm probably eventually going to get a second one and a mixer to learn vinyl DJing on :)
At the moment I picked up this one to partially to assist with digitizing interesting maxi mixes I find.
@urlyman Sadly, I have to inform you they do that here too, round the mountain roads. Especially on a quiet sunday morning. The rural Portuguese men tend to cheer them.
However, I have several times been cheered by groups of old ladies out for their daily constitutional, as I sail past them on the heavily laden #eBike.
