TFW you get asked to join a science communication event (yay!) where people can ask any question (AMA, let's go!) but the format is that an AI answers first and then the 'expert' can discuss it. Why? 😭

I refused and said it was irresponsible: a crucial layer of the truth sandwich is missing here. I also mentioned that anchoring effect, automation bias, and bullshit asymmetry all work against the researcher in this format. 😩

@hukl Betreibe seit einigen Jahren eine kleine Rocket.Chat Instanz, hab wenig zu meckern. Hatte mich für Snap als Paketformat entschieden, das würde ich vielleicht nicht mehr machen, und es gibt irgendwie zweiwöchentlich Updates. Aber sonst passt das für mich sehr gut.

Still looking at log files with tail -f? There's a better way to do this in #emacs:

1. Open the log file.
2. Make sure auto-revert-mode is enabled.
3. If necessary, throw in a highlight-phrase so all previous AND future matches of a certain regex get a colored background. And yes, you can have several of those in different colors.

oh and in fact i just changed my mind about several things at once:

• all types of shared memory mapping capabilities should require providing the file descriptor to map--this should be mutually exclusive with the standard file i/o interface
• any attempts to use write() or read() on the same descriptor after conversion to a shared memory mapping will fail with a specific implementation dependent error code (e.g. EIO or EPERM or whatever)
• we don't need a separate feature for anonymous memory mappings if we already have a process-local i/o sync domain by default
  • i.e. instead of doing an anonymous mapping, you can just create a new file that you own, and that produces an anonymous mapping since no data is shared outside of the process's **filesystem i/o virtual memory space**

Läste den just. Får mig att tänka på en annan kommentar jag sett. Konservatism som ideologi är helt enkelt ovetenskaplig. Inte ett exempel i historien har konservatism visat sig vara det bra alternativet. Jag är iof naturvetare men vad jag förstått säger just samhällsvetenskaperna också att konservatism är liksom, kasst, ovetenskapligt, orealistiskt.
Sen får jag känslan av länken att konservatism mest lockar narcissister.
Förövrigt, härligt färgschema sidan har. Mjukt för ögonen :)
