It seems like the right thing to do to speak ill of the dead in the wake of Parton’s and Curry’s recent deaths. So. Yayoi Kusama was a virulent fucking racist. One down.

Today I had another confirmation that the fediverse is a beautiful place. Where else can this interaction happen?

I've just found a secret spot in Kyoto.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/mf2PfTTh2q32c74M8
I went there without knowing, just because the food looked good and cheap in the resume on Google map and I want to visit a temple in the neighbourhood later. I got a bit surprised when I entered the building for how luxury it looked, and even more when I realised the price of the cup of coffee at the counter. Imagine a cup of Geisha the price of a Kopi Luwak. They don't tell it right away (trap) but there are soft drinks, at reasonable price. So, if you don't get caught in buying a coffee you end up with a reasonable price and yet tasty drink and sandwich in a wonderful traditional Japanese style building. Also there was nobody at all, a full 8 seats room for me alone ! Everybody probably get scared by the luxury look and coffee price. Given it's located in the busiest tourist district of Kyoto, it was really a surprising experience to spend a quite moment in such a luxurious place for the same amount of money I would have spent in another standard coffee of the area. And if you can afford it, they also seem to have great coffee, but I read they serve it in paper cup which is quite a shame and makes me less guilty to have not fallen in their trap.
Bonus point, for ten minutes a beautiful butterfly was flying in the garden right in front of me.
If you can I recommend you come here, but do it quickly, being empty a Saturday afternoon in such a place surely mean they won't last long...
@baillehache_pascal very nice! And close to k36 and Camellia. I don’t know many quiet spots on that side of the city.
@ellesaurus I'm not advocating violence against this person - but just know that if you need help burying a body, I'll be there for you
Current manifesto topic: The fossil fuel industry is responsible for Crypto, NFTs and LLMs because we already have enough renewable energy to power everything else.
As someone who has no interest in the whole datestodon thing, seeing posts come across my feed is like seeing DNS record types that I'm not familiar with and have to lookup
Autistici/Inventati's domains have now been revoked. I updated the link in the above post with a wayback machine copy.
Every now and then someone tells me, "We have a decentralized naming system, it's called DNS!" and I say, no we don't, DNS is extremely centralized? And if that wasn't clear to you before, hopefully it's clear to you today.
@cwebber Noblogs.org blogs gives a timeout right now but the subdomain cavalette (which looks like a sort of status page and way to communicate with all their very many users) is still up.
https://cavallette.noblogs.org/
And https://www.inventati.org/ is also up.
Please edit your post. By pointing people to archive.org (who removed posts related to the Amnesty UK report story) you're not giving people the option to check out other links and older or newer posts on https://cavallette.noblogs.org/
Thanks in advance
