Sidney Bechet, "Summertime".
For reasons my retirement has been paused and I took work with an Inuit owned construction company currently building a 12 plex apartment. And soon a daycare. It’s 10 hour days, six days a week. Following that it’s make supper and then work on the workshop. And some family time before bed.
Which is a long winded way of saying social media will be a lot quieter. Apologies. #WorkshopBuild #life.
@NunavutBirder
Real life is more important.
Stay safe, we'll be here when you have time again.🙂
Over the last few days I've been examining and reexamining my own assumptions about computers and technology.
Questioning why things are done a specific way, and if I want those things to be done that way (or at all!)
I'm slowly collecting and writing these thoughts.
I'm aiming for a series of blogposts that evolve into a project plan.
Along the way I'm poking at things. Maybe something will shake out.
Autistici/Inventati's domains have now been revoked. I updated the link in the above post with a wayback machine copy.
Every now and then someone tells me, "We have a decentralized naming system, it's called DNS!" and I say, no we don't, DNS is extremely centralized? And if that wasn't clear to you before, hopefully it's clear to you today.
The US has declared Autistici/Inventati, an Italian anarchist hacker (in the classic sense of the term) collective, a terrorist organization. https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0616/
But what you really ought to read is this article about A/I's history, and what this means https://web.archive.org/web/20260828071449/https://cavallette.noblogs.org/2026/08/10083/2
I'm concerned that the US government is starting to identify decentralized media infrastructure as a threat to its survival. Repost information about this broadly, and if you have media contacts, inform them of counter-narratives; there could come a time where the fediverse, or any decentralized network infrastructure, is a target as well if we don't sound the alarms now.
EDIT: I linked to the wrong page! The second link is now fixed :)
EDIT 2: A/I's domains have been revoked! So added an archive.org link

@davidgerard@circumstances.run @_r@donotsta.re @Floppy@mastodon.me.uk [genuine] who are "they"? Maintainers who knew the one of the core maintainers was a facist? And that by their silence about it, it says something about them?

@alfredbaudisch Amazing! Congrats on launching this! 🥳🥳🥳🥳
@psychicparrot42 Thanks!
Imagine Aseprite or another pixel art program inside Blender?
Pixel Perfect Pixel Art texture painting on top of the model in the 3D viewport and in 2D.
Drawing, painting, selection tools, layers, one-click texel density (pixel size) setup and density zones (multiple pixel sizes per face, like Mega Man Legends from the PS1).

Some of it may just be TIME.
Once I can show I've been trying to contact the Crowley campaign (& many others who are connected like my representatives) for a very LONG time using every possible method with no response, I may have a very, very small bit of leverage, but it takes AGES to get to that point.
They are still betting I will give up before that point.
@artemis That's the kind of correspondence I'd be publishing on Issuepedia (...after I get it migrated to a decent server...) -- for the record, if nothing else. ^.^
@davidgerard maybe Olivia Guest or Iris Meredith (although she is not face out)? Sam Lawler on data centers IN SPAACE?
@bookandswordblog i know who i *want* for DCs in spaaaaace (Taranis) but they don't want to be public either ;-)
christ this needs to be a blog post doesn't it
Yes.
@failedLyndonLaRouchite@mas.to @cavallette@mastodon.bida.im @Xeniax@mastodon.ml
Taking over the fascist states framing and ideas of public order is a way to enable fascism, nothing else. Stop dilluting yourself into thinking you're fighting fascism with this.
@describingunity @failedLyndonLaRouchite @cavallette thanks for writing this 🖤
Weirdly there's a lot that the Brandon Routh superman gets right
@rgulick @woozle I miss MySpace and MySpace Groups ,🤷♀️ but it really was the first of the tell us all about you platforms. What are your favorite singers, books, hobbies, etc etc.
I don't think it really started with the intent of creating dossiers on everyone. That some jackass suit with a lightbulb moment.
I never noticed it had gone... I certainly heard a lot about it, but I don't think I was ever super-clear on what it was all about.

Your reminder that the Irish government, various ministers and An Garda Síochána shrugged and said there was nothing to be done to stop this company, which has its European HQ on Fenian Street, not five minutes walk from Leinster House.
Most of them still have active accounts there too.
@GeePawHill @buffyleigh When talking about posthumous releases, I think there is a distinction to be made between collaborators finishing a work-in-progress (Otis Redding's Sitting on the Dock of the Bay would be another) and digging through the archives of material that an artist had chosen not to release.
That said, I personally have no problem with a "from the vaults" release if it is marketed as such, outtakes & demos, focusing on the process & encouraging discussion & comparison against his finished releases. He's never going to finish them now, so there's no saving them until they're perfect.
But if it's being presented as "ooh, look, we discovered an unreleased Prince album just sitting waiting for us," that would not be cool.
@AmeliasBrain @buffyleigh Dig. Yes. So, a lot of it has to be about how we present it, what we say about it officially in the release.
God I hate that one of the only ways to send money to someone who has been banned by the Visa/MasterCard cartel is cryptocurrency.
@RebelGeek99 @wilbr If you try the radical choice I mentioned, you might find that it's much less important to know that.
@GeePawHill fair. I mean, I could try ... They could try too, I guess lol
