@chadmccullough Thanks for the support! 😊
@Tutanota ❤️ 💯
One day you’re young and cool, the next you’re arriving at events early because the lake next to the event might have interesting ducks
Creative subversion of evil
I actually got to say "Everybody has access needs, it's just that neurotypical and biotypical people are used to having theirs met all the time" in an important meeting about accessibility with An Important Person yesterday.
I don't know how much difference it made (to them or to the other attendees), but it felt good.
There's also opensmtpd, which supports LMTP, and supports external filters, so that's an option too. Not sure how the filters are invoked, but opensmtpd supports multiple phases, not just post-data. While post-data is enough, additional phases can be useful.
This isn't using the milter protocol, either.
...and that's about it. It's Exim vs OpenSMTPD vs Chasquid. Of the three, the first two is already packaged in nixpkgs, and both can do what I want. The only advantage of Chasquid would be that it's Go, while the other two are C - but I don't care much about that in this case.
Between Exim and OpenSMTPD, for my needs, OpenSMTPD appears a better fit, so I'll go explore that.
This means that my email migration is delayed yet again. sigh

Ordered a Blu-Ray Burner and 100GB M-Disc blanks …
Let's say as a backup diversification attempt. Will report findings at a suitable time :)
Modern manufacturing has improved such that mixer taps are available that can handle a mismatch in water pressure between the two sides, but that's relatively recent. Historically, you couldn't do it, so we had two taps.
But crucially, this means many British homes have a 500l tank of clean water in the roof that with a little care is available for use in the event of an emergency.
I've even seen talk that the reason this was the norm is cos cold war resilience.

@quixoticgeek with the move to combi boilers and now heat pumps there's been a move away from cold storage tanks. Most places I've lived haven't had one, though some have a hot water tank. Current hot water tank requires incoming water so turning off at the mains has limited use until the pressure drops.
And, apropos of nothing, I am missing my mother today. It's kind of hot and grey and very humid. And a little sad, for no reason I can put my finger on.
But, I have a recipe she taught me for shrimp and mango salad. So I shall make it tonight for dinner and think of her.
What do you do when you catch yourself missing a deceased parent? #mothers
@Remittancegirl look at photos and get a bit teary with a mixture of loss and joy

the LLM is in orbit now, full parallel reality. the crime is that our benches were taken from us and i think i'm pulitzer bound with "They were always hostile. That was the point. We simply used to build them anyway"
If I was doing something, And then someone doing exactly the same thing produced a political theory of how the benches that were mentioned in the bible were stolen from us by cars, I would reconsider doing that thing. That doesn't seem to matter in this case though
