Be weird.

What's up with all the gay hockey romances? Yesterday I was looking for something new to read and more than half of the new books I could find were hockey themed. And the other half was coming of age. Seriously, I'm a forty something enby, with two kids near the coming of age age, whose only interest in sports is during the olympics and whose only contact with hockey was when I was a kid and we played hockey on a frozen pond.
@Zahlenzauberin That's what's advertised but the library catalogues offer great filters beyond the algorithmic/curated recommendations on the first page
Imagine a fediverse like button.
With https://webintents.net, it will soon be possible ✨
@dansup why?
I can be angry about rising fascism and also angry about facial recognition built into surveillance glasses at the same time, not only because these things are directly related, but because I contain fucking multitudes and all them are mad all the goddamn time.
We're not supposed to notice that they're chasing the plot of Minority Report, I guess.
Remember Elon Musk's hyperloop project? Washingtonian's Matt Ribel breaks down where it all went wrong (spoiler: it was doomed from the start because no one had a clue what they were doing).
@evacide wait, there are people who think ubiquitous facial recognition is not a tool for fascism? In fact any totalitarism...
@petko The people who are saying this are the people who are selling the facial recognition tool.
I have never seen the same oven model in more than one home.
They're like cars. New stoves come out every year.
We're entering Ceph filesystem maintenance. Please expect performance degradation or (in worst case) some downtime.
@jlargentaye @tilton One of the maniacal pitches of the pro-Brexit campaign was "we must protect our traditional currency from this vile dastardly scheme to replace it with the Euro!"
Dude, the "traditional" British currency is only 29 years older than the Euro at this point.
@JessMahler I'm going to have to test that at our next chat xD
@ljwrites

What's going on here? The matplotlib maintainer this story is about correctly notes that all the quotes from his post in the article are made up.
Thank you brain. 23:32 and now you start chewing on a thought that I'll need to write down to get it out of my head. Awesome. Perfect.
