I offer Cassandra's Complete Class Theorem¹.
All "good use cases for AI" break down into one of four categories:
I. Bad use case.
II. Good use case, but not something AI can do.
III Good use case, but it's already been done without AI.
IV. Not AI in the LLMs and GANs sense, but in the sense of machine learning, statistical inference, or other similarly valid things AI boosters use to shield from critique.

Alternatively #Discourse is very expensive to have hosted. I don't mind paying some money, but $20/mo for the standard hosted plan is too much for me.
@shoren18 I made an account on Fluxer, and for an open Beta, I like what I'm seeing. They're still working on mobile apps, but you can run it via browser, or download the client for the major OSes.

Last night @astrokiwi.bsky.social showed me that you can actually see the Milky Way from inside the city of Christchurch! I did not expect that, and actually wasn't even planning get outside and look up, because I'm in a city. (Yes this is a couple-second-exposure, but you could definitely see it naked-eye.)
The population of Regina, Saskatchewan is about 200k, Christchurch is 400k. Somehow, Regina has worse light pollution. I don't think the city is more concentrated, it's in the middle of the prairies, there's literally nothing to keep it from sprawling. (Is it just the snow on the ground? I don't know what time of year these measurements are taken.)
I'll have to do a bit more reading, but it's very interesting to me that NZ cities seem to be much darker than equivalent size Canadian cities.

Been thinking more about the discrete transistor computer.
I went through my notes and research from over the years and was surprised to see how many files contained useful information.
I even have simulations testing out different Diode-Transistor basic logic circuits.
Much of the original work assumes a fairly arcane and specific Instruction Set Architecture -- I thought it would be prudent back then to make it 'brainfuck'.
I think I will change this.

Everytime I try planning something interrail based, I get infuriated by the poor design choices made by every rail journey planner out there. As well as the inherent flaw in every journey planner: it assumes I know where I want to go. Sometimes I just want to say "I'll be arriving in $station at $time. Where can I go by train in the next 2 hours?" Or "where can I get to from this station?" The aimless rambling is hard. It's something I miss about paper time tables.
