This just happened yesterday in my neighborhood. A violent storm with heavy rain and extremely powerful wind. Tears and cars falling down, roofs broken, people having their houses filled with water.
I could shut up all the windows with metal stores that we are happy to have. Those who had individual houses suffered more, the roofs got really damaged. Also windows broke. People's cars destroyed by falling trees (somewhat a form of revenge, but I also am so unhappy for the trees, we already don't have enough of them).
This is all just the beginning. I expect this to become perfectly normal. We will have to adapt to harsher climate conditions.
In all of this, I was happy to see how much solidarity there was in our neighborhood group chat, younger people helping older neighbors drain water from their houses and fix some of the damage.
