Until a while ago, hearing the rain made me feel a sense of worry. The roof needed work, and I knew every drop of water would create potential trouble.
Now that it's fixed, hearing the drops fall in the evening while I relax and don't need to go out, gives me a sense of peace, naturalness, and subtle pleasure.

scripts awake at dawn.
Every evening, before going to sleep, I clean the coffee machine. It's a habit, almost a ritual. In a way, I remove the traces of the day that has passed, as a form of closure. On the other hand, I get everything ready for the next day, for waking up and the daily adventures.
Somehow, the coffee machine marks the passage of time, and cleaning it is a sort of anchor point.
Tonight, more than a weekend is closing. A phase of my life is closing. In a way, a summer is closing. In a sense, a year. I'm fired up tonight for the wonderful adventures of the next few months. Still, tonight feels like a last night. And I hate knowing exactly when something will happen for the last time.

Tonight, I'm going to bed a little earlier, if I can. Last night, I went to bed after reading something that upset me a lot. I didn't fall asleep until after 3 and was a zombie this morning.
But then I got a wonderful message from a friend, and another amazing message from a different friend this afternoon, and a great piece of news tonight about meeting up with a friend right after EuroBSDCon.
I have my smile back tonight, and I'm going to bed feeling more at peace.
