The post contains some reflections on these journeys, please go read if you are interested. Bottom line: of these three technologies, I ditched crypto completely and reduced air travel by maybe 65% and car use by 99%. I also ditched car ownership. I think I will eventually land on some way to use AI I can live with.

I do this because it feels right. I am under no illusion that I am "changing things". I know that change requires collective action, and try to participate in that too. But this kind of tech triage does help me to live more in harmony with my values. With some hard work and luck, our experiments and experiences can even inspire others to join such collective action, and provide food for thoughts.

e.g. for publishing hugo generated static sites with an integration
my research so far brings me to these constraints:
1) no byzantine config (like decamp/sveltia)
2) not run by a rug pulling wannabe megacorp (directus et al)?
3) doesn't require a tonne of auxiliary services when self-hosted (directus et al)
there's a sort of gold rush of headless cms products firing on all cylinders right now and the llm bomb didn't help

Une amie étrangère vivant en France aurait besoin d’aide : séparée mais pas divorcée de son mari français, elle a un permis de séjour. Son mari a collecté 4000 euros à la CAF en leurs deux noms sans qu’elle ne le sache et elle doit rembourser au risque de perdre son titre de séjour. Elle vient juste d’apprendre ça.
Si vous avez un contact qui est pro de ce genre d’affaire et qui peut l’aider, ça l’aiderait énormément.

Lemeilleur conseil c'est un bon avocat en divorce, à l'aide juridictionnelle. Leurs courriers ont plus de poids auprès de la CAF et il semble qu'il y ait à engager quelque chose, là, en termes de divorce pour valider juridiquement la séparation. D'autant que cela lui permettra peut-être d'acquérir des droits pour elle, en plus de la décharger de l'indû.

A ma znacznie większą kontrolę nad domenami najwyższego szczebla w swojej hierarchii, niż ICANN. Choćby dlatego, że jeśli ICANN zacznie się rozpychać, to będzie to natychmiast problem dla wszystkich domen narodowych. Państwa i organizacje międzynardowe zareagują, bo będą musiały.

@algernon What about one of the several mini-Emacs clones? Joe, zile, microemacs from back in the day. I'm sure there are more.
@tim_lavoie not enough vi keybinds. I have this - often quite annoying - thing where if I ssh somewhere, I want a vi-shaped thing, even though I normally live in emacs (though, I use evil-mode there too).
Not sure why this is, I was using emacs for over 5 years when I started learning vim, for... reasons I don't remember.
Pracowałem w ISNIC niedługo po tym, jak domena w .is należąca do Państwa Islamskiego została zawieszona. ICANN nie miał nic do gadania. Decyzja należała do ISNIC, i do władz islandzkich.
ICANN ma wiele problemów, ale nie jest w żadnym razie tak zależny od USA jak by się mogło wydawać, i nie ma takiej władzy nad domenami najwyższego szczebla, jak niektórzy twierdzą.
