First time starting up an Android device in... maybe a decade? And: wow. Start up, no sim card in the device even, no login to anything, and ads right there first thing, in a device I've paid for. Very cool to thumb right and get a fullscreen ad for That Fucking Guy and some MAGA shill from Alberta looking right there like it's part of the stock install because I'm in Canada I guess.
Well, off to the xda forums for me I guess.

I've written up a retrospective on my UNIX V4 workshop at Low Resource Computing, highlighting the cool things people accomplished and learned, along with snapshots of the filesystem throughout the workshop. It was a lot of fun!
A sensible country would be working towards energy independence based on renewables. Maybe with a bit of back and forth energy trade with neighbours, for years where one of them has insufficient generation for their needs and others have a surplus.
But outsourcing their energy needs to their neighbours fossil fuel reserves is neither sustainable or desirable. The neighbour making bank off such exports, is profiting from making it politically viable to avoid supporting renewables.
