@d_rift well sure but i was thinking p >= (q - 1)/2 or at worst p >= sqrt(q) would be appropriate as opposed to DEMANDING 2p + 1
@d_rift i'm not terribly sure if it's "slower" to iterate over large primes and require q = 2p + 1 vs something like (q - 1)/2 because you'd be somewhat trading off the number of iterations for the slightly smaller prime with iterations for the slightly larger prime

I think I’ve fixed the issue for those users in Ireland who wanted to download earshot. Would love it if someone can confirm that.

Ukraine is defending the core principles that are at the heart of Europe: sovereignty, democracy, and the right to choose its own future.
The EU’s solidarity with Ukraine is stronger than ever.
Psst, psst, not too far from here there are people losing not only their right to choose their own future: they're losing their right to live.
Don't you have some solidarity left for them? Or are you too afraid of Donny and Bibi?
I was assaulted by a butterfly today. It flew directly at me, went under my sunglasses, whacked me in the eye, and flew away.

@hipsterelectron the 2p+1 thing has a good purpose in some places. Because it's shorthand for the Galois group doesn't have only small factors / does have adequate structure to be worth a damn.

If you live outside of the United States,
do you know if your country has a plan if the US government decided to cut access to Google, Microsoft, and Amazon products overnight?
What would happen to your work?
What would happen to your hospitals?
What would happen to your emergency services?
What would happen to your banks?
Imagine overnight, for all those public services and private businesses, no more Windows, no more AWS, no more Google and Microsoft office software, no more remote files storage, no more emails, no more online maps, no more videochats.
What would happen?
Is your country prepared?
@Em0nM4stodon My work? I would be mildly inconvenienced as currently the github action workers are better than the other runners at my disposal, but this would be balanced by the opportunities to make fun of all colleague who went Microsoft 365 "but they promised data was hosted on a datacentre in the country".
Our institute @ethz.ch hosts local instances of gitlab, nextcloud, matrix, etc. that I actively use as redundancy (git) or primary storage (docs).
