serious question for the fediverse: do I know anyone in austria (anywhere) that wants to host me and my sister for a few days during this first half of september?

All of my usual complaints about Docker etc. being the wrong abstraction for most things still applies…. But I have successfully built my first Podman image on FreeBSD. The setup was pretty painless, after a few false starts forgetting about PF rules.
Now I wonder how hard it will be to create a multi-OS image 🤔

A couple of days ago (up-thread) I shared the SMMT’s analysis of new car sales in August. Now, to catch up, here’s the complementary analysis compiled by New Automotive from DVLA data. This shows not only the relative numbers of hybrid, EV, petrol-only and diesel cars but also which manufacturers are shipping those numbers. Diesel remains about 5% but petrol-only (22%) is falling to meet it. EVs take 30% share and all types of hybrid lumped together account for 44%.
