@TheBreadmonkey Hard disagree on the sideways peelers, I mean that specific one did look crap but fuck no, I can get much more speed and precision out of them. Also, non-metal stuff exists for a reason, I'd pick wood there tho.
Spider/Mesh strainers are great, I agree, but I find they break more often than those sitting ones. I love those that you can actually submerge into the pot and then remove and it sits on the counter, especially for spaghetti.

(20 years ago my resting BP was 250/150. I am a walking testimony to continued non-unaliving through consumption of pharmaceuticals!)

For many reasons, I'm gonna name the VM after some kind of moss. I just need to find the proper latin name.
I think I'll be going with Andreaeaceae, for two reasons:
- I will never, ever will be able to spell it correctly on the first try, and that will both frustrate and amuse me to no end.
- It's a family of moss named in honor of J.G.R. Andreae, who - according to Wikipedia - "declined memberships of several scientific societies, as he regarded such honours as 'learned charlatanry'."

the nurse told me to measure my blood pressure every morning, keep doing the uh eating right and exercising thing* until i get a consistent 140/90 or less. i have been doing so.
the tester is some cheap thing off amazon, doctors are fine with this one weird trick cos they use basically the same one
right arm i typically score ~150/90, left arm i'm getting ~135/85
i am doubting i have notably higher blood pressure in my right arm than my left
i'm beginning to think in practical terms this number is +/-10mmHg
* 30 min walk every day is annoyingly effective in making me feel generally better
