So I have a fair number of trees around my house. Full sun on the roof is iffy at best. But there are spots in the yard that get a few hours at a time. I’m thinking of creative placement of solar power pod “trees” that are not hideous to look at. Could be an interesting design project.

Neither are bosses supposed to renew short term contracts indefinitely, so they can keep you in that 3 month fire-at-will state for as long as you work there. Although this isn't well enforced.

Slightly orthogonal to its main concept, but no less critical: the fully e2ee and decentralised nature of such a network, is perhaps the best hedge we have against the impending wave of feudal technofascism…
It's probably not the only approach, and there is probably more to explore in that direction (a fully p2p social networking propagation protocol is both achievable, and the ultimate goal here), but it's a good start imho.

Maybe it is, but I suspect not. A lot of projects have tried and failed (eg SSB) and pivoted to hybrids like Nostr;
