perhaps we say "some objects have as their natural place the center of the universe. for other objects, their natural place is far from the center. and so those objects which have their natural place at the center of the universe naturally rush toward it"
"and when enough objects head their, they cluimp together and forma big ball, the earth. when you hold an object up and let it go, it can move closer to the center of the universe where it seeks to be, so it moves toward the center"
E pochi minuti dopo, credenziali rubate, malware installato o conti aziendali compromessi.
Tra le notizie emerse nelle ultime ore nel panorama cybersecurity internazionale, una delle più interessanti riguarda […]

@aral Germany's former undersecretary to the 'Commissioner for Culture and the Media' is now the COO of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), the manufacturer of the same war ships and submarines that hinder the Global Sumud Flotilla from reaching Gaza.

With someone like that (Andreas Görgen) controlling which media gets funded and which media gets defunded, it's no wonder why so many Germans are brainwashed to the point of denying genocide.

Vernissage 1.38.0 is now available! 🎉
This release introduces create/announce support for user inboxes with visibility validations, a new QuietPublic visibility type on status, and an antiflood mechanism with configurable parameters. It also fixes remote comment notifications, case-insensitive status search, and image rotation issues during small image generation from ActivityPub imports.
Thank you for all your feedback and support! 🤩

Sorry - I know when I did my silly 'I am everyone' post before it got up a few people's noses. It should burn itself out pretty quickly. Or destroy us all. We'll know soon enough.
@TheBreadmonkey No ! *I* am Everyone!
Question re: Origin Based Security Model (FEP-fe34)
Getting a list of instance admins requires calling the Lemmy API, unfortunately.
Wait, why don't we write a mini FEP to extend this? attributedTo on the instance/application actor?

ah there we go - July 2, 1946. maybe we can get them going again for their 80th birthday
@andycarolan at least the weekend will feel like a nice surprise, I hope
@WizardOfDocs haha, hopefully
when we come to try to answer the question WHY does it happen, we more into a realm full of non-facts
we say things like "perhaps the reason why is that everything has a natural place, and when its not in that place, it moves to it."
perhaps we say "some objects have as their natural place the center of the universe. for other objects, their natural place is far from the center. and so those objects which have their natural place at the center of the universe naturally rush toward it"
At home, the base is impressively orthogonal, even by *my* control-freak standards. It's 3 columns wide. The main shaft (to the right) is a perfectly straight ladder from top to bottom.
The leftmost column is (WIP) a cool industrial area. For the other two columns, the top is habitation, the bottom is ranching.
We've cracked the barren biome at the bottom, and the space biome at the top is blueprinted in.
A couple of close-ups to follow.
The main habitation area. The top floors (3 left, 2 right) will eventually all be luxury barracks.
Where the cots are now on the right will be the food prep, and below that, a relocated great hall.
On the left, the shine bug ranch is as the research below is already at 200 rads/cycle, more than enough.
The general state of shabbiness should indicate how much I've worked and reworked and reworked this space, but I feel I'm closing in on perfection.
@blog As a point of order, given the state of the world for many people today, feeling aggrieved, and wanting to be vocal about that is a perfectly rational response. That doesn't make the behaviour toxic, and I think it's risky to conflate them.
That said, clients can (and do) provide additional controls. E.g., #Pachli can hide posts that are the poster boosting their own posts, hide replies, etc. A Fediverse strength is that it's probably easier for clients to innovate in these areas.
@nikclayton I may not have done a good enough job that this is referencing the "three voices" from the example, there's an assumption that they are toxic voices.
google had to level up by killing RSS and XMPP before they could gain enough 😜 to kill email.
once they're done with that they will move on to the final boss of killing the web.
