Out of all the UK people on Mastodon who:
- have been active in the past week
- and happened to spend time here while the poll below flowed through their timeline
- and clocked it
- and thought to vote in it
254 said they have voted for the Green Party of England and Wales at some point in the past.
Which is 365 fewer than voted Green in just my council ward 2 weeks ago

You can draw your own conclusions. You can choose what factor to multiply the numbers by, in order to account for all the people who would have voted ‘Yes’ who didn’t see it or saw it but didn’t act on it.
What I take away is… no wonder the Green representatives of England and Wales are mostly not here

The peaceful @GlobalSumudFlotilla was illegally attacked and its civilian crew abducted at gunpoint by Israeli armed forces in international waters. Their mission was simply to provide food, baby formula and medical aid to Palestinian people living under a genocidal siege in Gaza.

It’s essential that the Israeli government knows the eyes of the world are on them – for the sake of the people of Gaza who remain under siege, for the sake of the flotilla crew and for the thousands of Palestinians still illegally incarcerated in Israel.

@julian You're making a very strong assumption that the remote server is necessarily checking for things it might not actually be checking for.
Neither the "instance" model nor the "same origin" model are enshrined in ActivityPub. This technically falls under "undefined behavior", because AP doesn't define an authorization model. (It suggests ("may") same origin, but that's about it. A lot of things are "at the receiving server's discretion".)

I received a security vulnerability report regarding NodeBB's handling of Update and Delete activities.
tl;dr
- NodeBB implementes FEP fe34, and treats
UpdateandDeleteactivities as valid if the activity'sactorand the object'sattributedTodiffer but the origins are identical. - e.g.
@alice@example.orgis allowed to federateDelete(Note)on@bob@example.org'sNote. - The origin-based security model allows for moderator-style actions (third-party post editing and deletions) in the absence of explicit moderator claims.
- The reporter disagrees that this should be allowed.

@neil yessss. I really love time spent 'together but alone' - hanging out in the same house but doing your own pursuits. It's comfortable and relaxing, and also means you get to chat/reconnect about what you've been up to at the end of the day.
