The 16th century remains of Parton Old Kirk, the burial place of Scottish physicist and mathematician James Clerk Maxwell. Described as the 'Scottish Einstein' and the 'father of modern physics'. The church is now for sale and the community are trying to raise the funds to preserve it as a museum for Maxwell.

Geoffray later wrote the Sounding Board and SpeakOut software at GW Micro, also in Fort Wayne. So Small Talk's text-to-speech is very likely an early ancestor of the SpeakOut rules. I think there's a pretty annoying habit of mansplaining on the #OpenStreetMap forum. I've hadn't noticed it until now 'cause I'd never engaged in a long thread before, but damn. Men are explaining basic OSM principles to me like I haven't been a part of this project for over 4 years, linking to them multiple times too. Telling me I should read previous comments again "slowly", and insinuating that I just don't understand the topic at hand.

I never thought I'd be laughed at for saying I bookmark stuff on my phone for quick reference and use wikipedia daily for looking up stuff that interests me, but today, at work, I was. Imagine life never having gone down a wiki rabbit-hole. How utterly dull.

For a while now I've been using 'hard right' and 'far right' to distinguish between corporatists and other market extremists, on the one hand, and crypto-fascists and open fascists on the other. But the more I think about it, the more the phrase 'far right' seems to miss the point.
The problem with fascists is not how far to the right their take on economic issues (often it's actually more centre-left), but their deeply authoritarian and antidemocratic social attitudes.
