The UK Online Safety Act requires platforms to assess and moderate 'illegal' content.

This mixed with the UK’s vague definition of terrorism could lead to content being wrongly flagged and removed.

This includes supportive posts about Palestine or protests and debate about the Palestine Action ban.

We need #PalestineAction URLs so we can check and record via archive.org. We need them before content is removed.

Here is a form: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/TDUZQS/ #osa#OnlineSafetyAct

We also need to be deeply concerned about the way laws interact, such as the #PalestineAction proscription. Platforms are now obliged under the #onlinesafetyact to remove this "terrorist content". How then do they protect free speech, in the face of this clear duty?

More than 100 people arrested in the UK for supporting #PalestineAction. (Labour is So Liberal!)

In London, arrests were made near the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament Square, where as many as 20 police vans attended.

Officers moved in swiftly to arrest those holding the placards, many of whom appeared to be over the age of 60.

One woman claimed to be in her 80s and was walking with a stick. Some were led away while others had to be carried.

Last Saturday, 71 arrests were made across the UK at similar protests against the decision to make supporting Palestine Action a crime worth years in prison.

Seriously, bobbies out there handcuffing great grandmother and charging her with terrorism because of a sign? Has England really fallen so far so fast?

Met police arrests 29 people holding signs in support of Palestine Action in London on Saturday

Sue Parfitt, 83, said banning Palestine Action was “a very dangerous move that has to be challenged”. And: “We are losing our civil liberties, we must stop that for everybody’s sake.”

More than 20 arrested for holding “i support palestjne action” placards; meanwhile lovely Rod Liddle writing in the lovely Spectator:

“ A small yield nuclear weapon, such as the American W89, dropped on Glastonbury in late June would immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”

But this is fine, this is normal; no consequences. #Gaza#PalestineAction#UKPolitics#RightWingShits

The proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist group starts tomorrow.

This is a dangerous escalation in the criminalisation of political dissent in the UK.

It’ll increase surveillance, particularly under the Prevent Duty, and censorship under the Online Safety Act.
