If anybody wants a smile btw, a MS employee told me they believe this Mastodon thread and my blog cost them over a billion dollars.
I think it’s firmly on Microsoft’s shoulders, the rollout of Recall and Copilot+ PC was just a series of own goals. They had huge expectations for it in terms of consumer demand and just.. didn’t think it through on many levels.
"Claude Skills" has been recently added to #Pixelfed. I guess this means Pixelfed uses (or will use) codes generated using LLMs/"AI"

Listen, I just think it's weird that the same people who are saying they're worried that AI is going to wipe out humanity are also eager for military contracts that will give AI control of weapons.

My first response as someone who did karate for 15 years is... I retired from this for reasons and it's hard to imagine taekwondo being safer.
You cannot kick without it being safe to rely on your ankle. You absolutely cannot punch or do most blocks safely as a beginner with hypermobility, you'll hyperextend everything.
I taught karate for 15 years and I sure couldn't help a student competently with the kinds of problems I have. Should I set aside my skepticism?

So a goal of both myself and my PT team is to find a group exercise that I can do to build up that strength again in a way that is engaging for me and with an instructor that is "disability aware" or does "adaptive martial arts" or just "hypermobility aware".
I tried to find a group class at work, and was directed to "rebuilding mobility with taekwondo".

I have a health quandary and am curious for advice.
I used to do a lot of karate. Like I taught for fifteen years.
I had to retire about 7 years ago due to MS symptoms. I went from significant exercise to none at all during COVID due to a simultaneous rib injury.
This exposed that I have had hypermobility the whole time, I just did so much working out that it wasn't debilitating.
Presently I am getting over a sprained ankle, elbow, and rib pain.

@darius I have vague memories of friend.camp integrating with some of events calendar. Did I make that up, or get confused maybe with another Mastodon fork? I had a bit of a dig but couldn't find anything on friend.camp or your GritHub repo about it.
@pluralistic just reading Enshitification. Your break down of IP and rent seekering in relation to Technofeudalism is great, and has really helped me understand the growing ick factor in tech. I think the best way to describe these rent seekers is leeches - “extorts profit from or sponges off others”. And leech capitalism sucks.
