UK scientists reformulated a licensed shot using trehalose, the sugar that lets desert plants survive without water, keeping it stable for up to two years at 30°C. Et puis quand ça varie sur une journée ça va, quand ça varie sur une saison entière c’est chiant (on rappelle que le pic de chauffage c’est l’hiver et c’est le creux saisonnier du solaire… oups). C’est aussi chiant quand ça varie d’heure en heure (éolien).
On peut ajuster un peu la demande, mais si tu penses que ça va suffire à réguler les EnR, va falloir m’expliquer comment.

I very recently tried to record some tutorials that I had _subscribed_ to (tutorials on how to play a musical instrument). I wanted to purchase the tutorials outright so I could use them to practice over and over, but the company requires a continual monthly subscription - even to watch the same video over and over.
I figured I have video and audio on my Linux computer.
It should be easy to capture that video and audio.
Well, it's not. Screen capture without audio is easy, but audio capture is not intuitive up front. There are some methods to use the program FFmgep to capture some audio/visual by pulling a video link from the source code of the streaming service, but this service used a codec that actively prevents that. (edit: read - uses some heavy DRM)
I tried to find a decent program to just screenrecord audio and visual as it played on my monitor, but I didn't have much success.
I need to try again.
Otherwise I'll be paying a monthly fee to play the same handful of videos over and over and over again.
And that's silly.
(Edit to add: Absolutely please please please suggest methods to do this in the replies! This is a call for help and all replies and suggestions are requested and consented to! Hahaha!)
@tinker @pluralistic hear me out: a nice vintage japanese camcoder filming your screen and recording your audio, so you defeat the industry by having your vcr after all. Quality will suffer somewhat but if you also find a vintage tv, it might even be enjoyable.

@davidgerard Now on consequences... idk, is he anywhere near as influential as Musk et al in the West? But maybe he can push around institutions and governments in the global south where his "philanthropy" is weighty enough.
Him being not very well loved in amongst the right wing electorate in the US in particular is an obstacle I think.
