To my friends out in the smoke: i wanted to point out that the way the Canadian system works it's just going to say "10+" on most apps, but the smoke hazard may be way above that. Here is a comparison of the same day and time as shown on the Purpleair app, showing the warning messages from the Canadian and U.S. system side by side. Last year someone I knew got pneumonia because nobody was protecting themselves from the smoke. After all, it only says high risk people need to worry

@pezmico @jdmcg surely context matters. Like... what do MPs get from joining a union? Even MORE benefits?
My personal experience, nearly 40 years ago, was compulsory union membership in my first job. That amounted, almost literally, to demanding money with menaces.
This was in a relatively small private company that treated me pretty well. The moment my pay increased to where I didn't need to belong (and that was nothing to do with the union), I bailed. I got a series of quick and substantial pay rises on the basis first of proving myself, and then of proving my worth. The second one, that lifted me over the threshold, was 25%.

A large number of Ukrainian drones have hit the Engels 2 airbase in Saratov Oblast, Russia, during the night. This base is home to Putin's Tupolev Tu-160 and Tupolev Tu-95MS strategic bombers.
There are many videos from different angels showing triangle shaped drones approaching the airbase while Russian air defence is firing.
I am wondering if Ukraine is using a new drone type, because this is clearly not the usual Ukrainian Bober drones. They look more like a copy of the Iranian Shahed-136.
