Yesterday we happened upon two fishers near #AlgonquinPark in #Ontario, #Canada. Knowing full well that fishers are not a threat to humans, we still made a point of staying back and using our zoom lens & binos to see these animals up close. #nature #wildlife #wilderness #fishers #naturephotography

Say hello to a hardworking beaver in #Ontario #Canada. Yesterday this little guy in #AlgonquinPark started with trying to chew down a hydro pole deep in the bush but then moved along to chewing the brush. #animals #nature #naturephotography #wildlife #beaver

A teenager fell into Lake Ontario recently. Thankfully, he was rescued quickly and is okay.
Just because some parts of the lake were or are frozen over doesn’t mean it’s safe to walk on them, especially now that we’ve had multiple days above 0 C.
I think we should have some signs up telling people this. Not everyone grows up learning about such things and how dangerous they can be.

Went to Hall's Road, Cranberry Marsh, in Whitby #Ontario this weekend.

Saw an unseasonable eastern towhee
Glad to see much of the area naturalized.

You have to understand how utterly insane last night’s #Trump threat to block and takeover the Gordie Howe Bridge between #Michigan and #Ontario sounds to #Canada.
It is as if you paid for and paved over your neighbour’s adjoining driveway for free when you were doing yours.
And then the neighbour declares both driveways his!

Been working on this all day. Hosted on @fedihost (Canadian, no US dependencies), ready for anyone who wants a local community on the fediverse.
I'm going to be transferring my account there another day, for now I need sleep.
If you're in Ontario or connected to it, come say hi. And if you're running a Canadian instance, let's connect.
Pukaskwa: The Mystery of the Pits in the National Park
Along the rugged Lake Superior coastline of Pukaskwa National Park lie the Pukaskwa Pits. These are mysterious, human-made rock structures, some arranged in patterns on cobblestone beaches. Their exact age and purpose are unknown, though they are culturally significant to local Indigenous peoples and remain an archaeological puzzle. #Canada #Pukaskwa #Archaeology #Ontario 🇨🇦

We want to go to Bruce peninsula for our yearly trip in the fall.
Maybe go on the 17 from Ottawa, stop at Lake Nissiping for a day or two.
We can reserve our parking to Bruce/Grotto tomorrow (this is what we've been waiting for before booking everything else lol)
Anything else in the area worth seeing? I had Tobermory, Manitoulin Island, etc.
