@sfb My only wish is that she had taught you to fucking read, because this is now the third time I'm going to tell you to "fuck off" and somehow you're still in my replies.
In English: "Fuck. Off."
Do not pass go, do not collect $200, just fuck off. We are not conversing and I don't give a shit what you think of me.
One more time: "Fuck. Off."
@lowqualityfacts He'd say thorry.
For 5000 years, Cairnholy Chambered Tomb has sat on this hillside, overlooking the Solway Firth, watching the centuries pass and still it is magnificent!

Quick FYI: My co-op, @limeleaf, has some availability for contract work if you or someone you know needs software help!

@AnarchoNinaWrites I think my mother was right when she said anarchists are too often petite bourgeois. What 's your problem accepting a polite go fuck yourself?

arguably software has become a filmaking problem.
as the great Ted Nelson once said: "Software design is taught in the wrong department. Interactive software is a branch of cinema."
To stay connected and be visible in #student life we are (still) on #instagram.
But the longer we stay, the harder it becomes to defend that choice.
It clashes with what we stand for as a #library: trustworthy information, #OpenScience, #DigitalAutonomy & student wellbeing.
We want to explore alternatives and open up the conversation about what responsible (online) #communication with students could and should look like.
Read our story and share your thoughts:

@Bibliothecaris compliments on the well written, honest article opening a much needed conversation that more organisations should have with their "stakeholders".
Thank you for doing this!
Ripped out Tailscale and built a simpler WireGuard setup instead.
Tried Headscale but it felt a bit too convoluted for what I actually needed, so I kept it basic: two VPSes and plain config files. One VPS acts as the VPN hub, the other as a reverse proxy back into my home lab, letting me expose services without any inbound port forwarding.

@unknownuniverse another great post and especially as I'm about to try and set up remote access. Thanks.
I'm planning to start with Proxmox but may reconsider and try this. What is your "home routing server" made up of?
Two days before #WimbledonArtFair and the todo list is still looking 😬 but we are getting there! Pen plotters doing their thing again today 🤖
I need a non-technical guide for installing and using #Linux in Spanish for my mother-in-law. Anyone know a good one?
@Gargron The MX-Linux manual is a very good guide, not just for MX: https://mxlinux.org/manuals/
The latest for spanish: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MX-Linux/mx-docs/master/mxum_es.pdf
@gabrielesvelto just to be clear, studying what types of things? What’s been valuable?
@trisweb I've studied some APIs and libraries I was not familiar with. I improved my knowledge of certain traditional Unix tools such as sed and bash. I also spent some time digging on some harder aspects of the Rust language I didn't have a good grasp of. I also took the time to automate some things I was used to do by hand so that I'd free more time for reading & understanding in my work vs doing menial things.
@alexchapman that's a "no true Scotsman" – and not only that, but I did not even say that everything that is generated is slop.
I said that AI slop makes things worse, so even with your narrow no-true-Scotsman definition of AI slop, this holds.
Interesting that you felt you need to push back like this.
I would invite you to read the piece that was linked there, there is so much more there that might be relevant, you know.
@rysiek Well it seems there's far too much anti-AI sentiment going around and all it does is make the people who are genuinely doing good things with AI feel bad. I've come across it on here, on Reddit, practically everywhere, some people even take it as far that they end up sounding like some sort of anti-AI extremist, and I just think it needs to calm down because at the end of the day, there are people that know what they're doing and they shouldn't be made to feel bad because what they're doing involves AI.
I had a feeling this might have been what happened, Color.io is legit and could hint at something really interesting coming for iPhone image formation https://www.macrumors.com/2026/05/11/apple-color-io-acquisition/
@stalman Also for Pixelmator and Final Cut, no?
Interesting read.

@matuzo this part really stuck with me

And for everyone else, genocide isn’t a deal breaker.
Take a fucking bow.
@aral It is a human destruction method.
I visited Rwanda where I was able to find out that over 1000,000 people lost their lives because of genocide!
This should not happen again anywhere else as we still have knowledge within our brain and when our souls have humanity
