For some background, you can watch the talk @zormit and @blinry gave at #FOSDEM:
https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/event/CQHN8T-teamtype-towards-a-collaborative-editing-protocol/
We'd especially love your input if you already have experience standardizing protocols, to point us towards best practices!

@spla trobo que està molt massegada. Es mereix un descans.
Take a nice long shower or bath. Let the water loosen your muscles and your mind.
I have 384TB of ECC DDR4 across two blades with 4 CPUs for a combined core count of 96.
It powers a fully populated 192 disk solid state SAN.
I was told it was old and in need of replacing, but apparently now it’s worth more than the GDP of the UK.
Can’t afford to run it (or hear my thoughts when in the vicinity)… but I can sit atop it like a fucking dragon.
And I will.
Imagine a protocol like #LSP, but for adding real-time collaboration to existing text editors. It would allow #Neovim to edit a #Hedgedoc, or peer-to-peer pair programming between #VSCode and #Emacs!
We've come up with our own little protocol like that (for Teamtype), but we'd like to open up the discussion:
That's why we're inviting everyone interested to an initial online gathering on Feb 26, 19:00 UTC, to gauge interest for working on a protocol like this together!
@proedie There sure is! Like I said though, be aware that different instances have different rules and you might see stuff you did not expect! 😂
@derbadian @proedie I find it useful to find new people outside my bubble, but yes, I use blocks and mutes liberally!
What are your top three film adaptations of a novel?
@GeePawHill
I don't see Slaughterhouse Five in this thread.
I loved how, while covering the same ground, the film had a completely different feel from the book. Whereas the book ends with "And what do the birds say? All there is to say about a massacre. Things like 'poo-ta-weet?'" The film ends with the birth cry of Montana Wildhack's baby. It was such an up-beat ending!
The first time.

No tindrem lluites compartides. En tot cas, coincidents.

Y'all we've never had this many refurbished laptops available at one time, including a couple of Macs! We've got newer, older, and a few things in between -- https://refurbs.thecomputercellar.com

It's either very funny or very depressing to watch executives trip over themselves to prove who has the worst understanding of what software development actually entails.
